Through this program, we see participants through the entire process of naturalization. We assist the participants with citizenship eligibility, preparation of the application for citizenship, and preparation for the citizenship or naturalization exam. Courses for the Citizenship Exam and ESL are offered as well for those who are in process of naturalization or simply wish to learn the English language.

Through a partnership with the Legal Aid Society, we provide legal asistance to participants that may be facing deportation.
The immigrant rights organizer also calls the IDP hotline, analyzes cases with the lawyers, and is then able to offer NMCIR participants affected by deportation valuable advice. The Immigrant Defense Project (IDP) lawyers are available to answer questions related to the deportation cases that NMCIR handles on a weekly basis. For more information on IDP, visit www.nysda.org/idp or call (212-) 754-6422.
Presentations, workshops, informationals, community forums and street fairs are the mediums NMCIR uses to educate the community on issues affecting immigrants today as well as the services our office provides.
